Bishop Cozzens shares insights with a panel on how to support our youth during this time:
Mental Health Support: Our children are also feeling the anxiety of all that is happening around them. While school is closed, a routine is a healthy way of structuring your days. Included scheduled time for school work, outdoor play, free-choice reading, unstructured play and rest time. Address questions directly and honestly. Continuing with regular bed time and meal times is also helpful. Limit exposure to media and screen time outside of their online learning. Additional resources that you may find helpful:

Music/Art/Phy Ed/Band:March 30-April 3
TO DO: Please follow our “Bingo” tracking sheet for music, art and physical education. BINGO and here is your Phy Ed: PEWarmUpActivities
Band: Attached is a document that outlines what things will look like in coming weeks. Please read it in full – these are resources I will be utilizing as needed with the possibility of upcoming distance learning. It really makes a big difference to set aside some time to practice for 20 minutes. I recommend 5 days per week at minimum, however getting even more playing time in now is a great idea. To start I will be using SmartMusic as well as FlipGrid for us to stay connected (instructions to sign up and sign in are in the attached document). Distance Learning Resources – St Michaels
Moving to online learning will be new for many of our students. Please be sure to review the “Video Presentation” file with your child as we begin our online journey. All middle school teachers will be posting their homework, live classes, and linked videos on Google Classroom. Please be sure to have your child log in every day and connect with their teachers and check their Google Classroom assignments.
LIVE CLASS SCHEDULE: If your middle school teacher schedules a Live Class, the times are adjusted for the online learning environment, anticipating that our students may sleep in a little later when they are at home! Your student will receive a link for a Live Class from their teacher. There will be no live classes on Monday, March 30, our first day of full online and distance learning.
