What is a School Marathon?

Each year, St. Michael Catholic School joins hundreds of other Catholic schools throughout the country in an annual fundraising. The purpose of the Marathon is twofold: to show the community what “forming servant leaders'' looks like, and to raise money in support of our
school’s mission to shape disciples of Jesus by igniting the spiritual, academic and social growth of each child.

26 Acts of Service in THREE WEEKS!

When is Marathon? 
Beginning Friday, Sept. 6th, through Friday, Sept. 27th. Students are challenged to perform 26 Acts of Service, mimicking a 26 mile marathon.

How does Marathon work? 
Individual students and families are encouraged to get out in the community and ask for Marathon pledges. As students are out in the community performing service projects, they ask neighbors, extended family, and friends for financial gifts to honor their work and to support our school’s unique faith-based mission. Students are offered many fun incentives for their good deeds! All donations are 100% tax-deductible, with proceeds directly supporting the school’s mission.

Why is Marathon so important? 
Our Marathon is St. Michael’s only all school fundraising event. The funds raised from this year’s Marathon will go directly towards the cost to educate a child at St. Michael. This year, our school goal is to raise $102,000. With everyone’s participation, we can achieve this goal!
