Educating the Whole Child:
Mind, Body and Spirit.
St. Michael Catholic School is dedicated to:
Paramount to our day to day activities is living the Gospel message. This is reflected in all our activities, but plays an especially important role in the spiritual life that we cultivate for our students.
The St. Michael Catholic School Robotics Program services our youth from grades 1st thru 8th through programs guided by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). FIRST was founded in 1989 and is proven to encourage students to pursue education and careers in STEM-related fields. Our program is separated into three age appropriate subprograms.
The robotics season begins in the fall. Depending upon subprogram level and progression in competitions, the season concludes sometime between November and February. Each team is comprised of 3-10 students and is led by 2-5 parent mentors. The mentors and students learn together and no experience is necessary at any of the levels. Teams meet 1-2 times per week. Meeting times are determined by team mentor availability.
The robotics program aims to make the youth at St. Michael enthusiastic about science and technology, with the idea that through team spirit they can solve complex tasks in creative ways.
